Organizational culture—the values, attitudes and “ways of doing things” that characterize a company—has a major impact on the organization’s ability to succeed, adapt, and grow. Culture also is a major determinant of what kinds of employees will be hired and retained.
A good practical start towards managing an organization’s culture is to identify a set of shared values, and put a process in place that helps all employees hold one another accountable for living those values. The Culture Groove module helps an organization to define its core values. The VMPgoals application then provides an accountability and learning loop regarding the degree to which the organization is walking the talk of its stated values.
